Its Your Turn to Be Celebrated
Julia McMahon, my sister and one of our amazing brokers, told me this story:
A few days ago, her four-year-old son Sean figured out how to ride a two-wheeler bicycle for the very first time. As he zoomed around the driveway thrilled with his new skill, his six-year-old sister Maureen got on her bike and, literally, ran circles around him with an attitude that implied, “I’ve been doing this for years.”
Standing nearby, Julia encouraged her son, saying, “Sean, I’m so proud of you!”
Sean stopped, turned to his mother, and said, “Yeah, it’s my turn to be celebrated.” (He has a lisp, so it sounded more like “th-elebrated,” but you get the idea.)
Obviously, Julia’s family celebrates moments in their children’s lives as do we all. The fact that little Sean knew that despite his big sister’s attitude, it was, indeed, his turn to be celebrated makes me smile.
As the fifth of Julia’s six children, Sean is aware that lots of other people already ride bikes. He also knows that being able to ride a bike himself is a big deal. It was just a moment in time, but the concept is profound.
Come to think of it, little celebrations should probably happen a whole lot more. Did you remember to take the hamburger meat out of the freezer? Find all 37 picture books your kids checked out of the library? Go a whole week without the new puppy escaping out the front door? Well, yay for you!
Did you make the decision to sell or buy (or both)? Wow, well done! That’s huge.
Now, that you’ve taken that “Let’s do this!” step, take the next step and call a real estate professional. We are not only great cheerleaders. We can pinpoint, specifically for you and your house, what home improvements matter and which are a waste of time and money. FYI: It’s probably not the time to install a Koi pond.
And when you do decide to make that call, we hope you’ll choose one of our excellent brokers. We, at EvoReal, know today’s market inside and out. (Check out our latest entry on the August 2024 market conditions.) Like little Sean, we have some mad skills. We can help every step of the way so that at the end of your transaction(s) we can break out the balloons and glitter to CELEBRATE!
