Changing Your Location Location Location
Hi Friends,
I once lived right across the street from an elementary school — a good school. Not only that, it was right next to a park, AND a supermarket and several shops were within walking distance. So, basically our family had hit the first rule of home buying, “location, location, location,” out of the park. Home Run! One and done! Right?
Well, yes and no.
Someone wiser than I once said that nothing is constant but change, and, boy, is that the truth!
Children grow out of the need for elementary school. Families grow too big for the little house on the corner, and although adding a second bathroom and another couple of bedrooms might be entirely possible, becoming the biggest house in a neighborhood of modest two-bedroom homes might not be financially wise. At least, for us, it wasn’t.
So, we moved.
The next house was perfect for us…until it wasn’t.
11 years after we moved in, the house that had seemed so big now felt as though it was bursting at the seams. Our family had grown to eight by then. Our needs had changed. And no matter how tidy my stepdad kept our yard, it didn’t make up for the houses just down the block that had steadfastly become more and more scruffy looking. Even our favorite neighbors had moved away.
So, we moved again, this time into a house whose flyer bragged, “Perfect for a big family or empty nesters.” Our big family certainly fit the first part of that description. Also, the neighborhood felt just right.
That was 31 years ago. Now, as advertised, the second part of that flyer’s description, the part that seemed a million years away when we first moved in, the “empty nesters” facet of house, has come into play, and it perfectly suits the needs of my parents, at least for now.
Nothing is constant but change. As our families grow and change, so do our housing needs. We outgrow schools; we outgrow homes, and sometimes, we simply need a cozy home for one or two people.
No matter what stage of life you are in, you need a home that suits your needs, and we are here to help.
That being said, it doesn’t hurt to look. Swing by our website and check out the latest homes to hit the market here!
