Improve Your Homes Air Quality Keep Smoke Out

Here are a few tips to keep your home and body healthy and smoke free during times of poor air quality.

1. Close all windows, use your central air system if you have one, make sure to check/change the air filter regularly. A good time to do that is now! Don’t buy a cheap air filter replacement get a name brand or certified filter.

2. Check for leaks in weather stripping including window seals, door seals, any kind of air leaks you can find, there are some nice temporary applications you can use to seal those including taping them shut. Make sure to close your garage door and limit how long you have it open.

3. Get an air purifier, preferably with a HEPA filter. These can get pretty pricey but we found some great ones for under $100 on Amazon. Check reviews and their sources, check this one out on sale for 80 bucks https://www.amazon.com/VEVA-Purifier-Activat…/…/ref=sr_1_18….

4. Limit adding to the smoke factor by lighting candles in the home, fireplaces, or gas stoves. Run your overhead fan/hood and avoid cooking with excessively smokey oils and fats (skip the bacon).

5. Limit vacuuming for a bit, kicking up the settled micro smoke particulates and dust will really add to any irritation.

Be safe out there and limit your outdoor activity, a great time to sit down and enjoy a nice movie, the smoke will be gone soon enough
